Bihar safer than Delhi for women: Sushma Swaraj

New Delhi: Taking a swipe at the recent incident of rape in the national capital and the beating up of the men for entering ladies coach of the Delhi Metro, Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha and senior BJP leader Sushma Swaraj on Friday said that women are safer in Bihar than in Delhi.

‘Bihar is safe and Delhi is unsafe for women’, Sushma wrote on her Twitter account.
Her tweet came on a day when men who had forcefully entered Delhi Metro coaches reserved for the fairer sex got a taste of women power as they were thrashed and made to do sit-ups.

The incident was reported last night when a team of Haryana Police randomly entered Metro coaches on complaints that men were forcefully entering women’s coaches and harassing the passengers.

Acting on the complaints, the personnel made the male passengers alight from the coach.

Many of the passengers who strayed into the reserved compartment were slapped and thrashed by police, including women personnel, as well as women commuters.

Some of them were made to do sit-ups in public view after they were forced to alight from the train.
‘Just in! Women beating up men in Delhi Metro for entering the ladies’ compartment! Fabulous’ tweeted actress Gul Panag about the incident. It should be noted that Gul also had to face a similar situation when she was molested and felt up at the Delhi Half Marathon in which she was participating, a few days back that left the actress fuming at the Delhi men.
